The EFL has reiterated that Wigan Athletic’s 12-point deduction for entering administration WILL be applied to the Championship table immediately after tonight’s matches - meaning Birmingham City could be in danger should they lose to Derby.

There is only one match-day left to go in the Championship, with matters at the bottom of the table still yet to be decided.

Several teams at the bottom of the division - including Blues - are nervously awaiting the final day of English football’s second-tier.

And there is an added layer this season owing to Wigan entering administration and the 12-point deduction they have hanging over them.

The Championship club entered administration a couple of weeks ago and are set to be handed a 12-point penalty by the EFL once the season has been completed.

However, Wigan’s administrators confirmed recently that they have launched an appeal against the club’s impending 12-point deduction.
